Lightforce installed an Enphase system with microinverters for us, which was ideal given the shading from our chimney and neighbouring trees. The sales rep who visited was excellent — very knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and provided a very detailed quote. The installation, however, was the disappointing part. I was expecting the job to take around three days, but it ended up taking the better part of a month. A design issue meant the system had to be reduced by one panel, and it often felt like the team had multiple installs running at once. I also had to follow up several times to get updates. That said, I’m very happy with the finished product. The system looks tidy on the roof and is securely mounted. We’ve had a couple of major storms since installation, and I was genuinely worried the panels might lift — but they held firm. Because the system uses microinverters, each panel runs independently, and the only hardware on the wall is a small, tidy box next to the switchboard. The app is simple and works well, and I’ve recently discovered that smart‑home platforms like Home Assistant can pull data from it, which is a bonus. In terms of performance, our highest power bill so far has been $90 going into winter, down from around $300. Part of that saving also comes from removing natural gas and installing a hot‑water heat pump, but solar has clearly made a big difference. With energy prices rising so quickly, installing solar feels like a no‑brainer. I was on the fence about giving 3 or 4 stars just purely on the install experience but will give 4 as the benefit outweighs the frustration

The installation team also did a great job working around some terrible weather while keeping everything moving smoothly. Highly professional and easy to deal with from start to finish.

Lightforce have been great! Kyle (the sales rep), along with Mitchel and Ryan (the installers) were all super friendly and exceedingly knowledgeable! Installing solar is a big undertaking that involves multiple different companies and throughout the entire process, Lightforce have been available, communicative and a pleasure to deal with at every step! From initial contact to installation Lightforce Solar exceeded expectations. Javan the salesperson was excellent and Craig the installer worked well with the builders. Craig managed a few visits to pre wire when the ceiling was down which made the job easier. Ran into Craig on the ferry from Picton and had a good chat about solar. I highly recommend Lightforce as they are truely professional.

Have had a Lightforce Solar install at my residence in Lower Hutt and couldn't be happier with the outcome. The whole team from Ryan, the Ops Manager, Mitch, the onsite electrician and the young men doing the hot heavy mahi on the roof were all wonderful. Hardworking, knowledgeable, friendly and genuinely cared about the solar energy product being installed. A very tidy, nice looking job upon completion which usually means a high standard of workmanship. Looking forward to several years of generating my own solar energy. It was a pleasure dealing with Lightforce. I was impressed by their professional and thorough approach. Solar is what they do - and we were not dealing with a franchise installer! They walked over the roof with me to discuss the best number and location of our panels, and went out of their way to discuss how the system operated. They have been great, it took a while to get an install date, because they were busy, but the office crew and install crew were really good and their follow-up has been good and positive. Reccomend the 'force.
