THE BARRETT FARM
SOLAR SOLUTION

Kevin “Smiley” Barrett, proud Taranaki dairy farmer and former rugby player, played 167 matches for Taranaki. After retiring, he raised eight kids on his farm nestled between Mount Taranaki and the Tasman Sea.

Three—Beauden, Scott, and Jordie—have grown into notable rugby players. The Barrett farm, a hub for NZ rugby talent, transitioned to organic farming in the early 2000s.

In 2025, Kevin and wife Robyn enhanced their agribusiness with a Lightforce Solar system, featuring 50 Trina High Energy Panels, a 25kW Sigenergy 3 Phase Hybrid inverter, Sigenergy 3 Phase backup gateway, and 40kWh Sigenergy Battery.
